Lewis County is named for explorer Meriwether Lewis who died and was buried at Grinder's Stand in 1809, the geographic center of the county.

Lewis County Industrial Park Deal Ready - Director of Hohenwald, Lewis Couny’s Economic and Community Development, Phil Griner, third from left, accepted certification for Lewis County from Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association (MTIDA) on January 18.

The Certification names the
Lewis County Industrial Park on Highway 20 as a Deal Ready site. To qualify as Deal Ready a site has to pass a rigorous evaluation process which guarantees the site is ready to go for business.
